“To the Western World” Returns to Ireland
Margy Kinmonth’s award-winning drama-documentary film “To The Western World” will be screened on 10 October 2009 as part of the Irish Film Institute and Dublin Theatre Festival’s “Unsung Synge” centenary celebration of the acclaimed writer John Millington Synge. Narrated by John Huston and starring Niall Toibin, Patrick Laffan, Tom Hickey & Brendan Cauldwell, the film charts the journey of J.M. Synge and Irish artist Jack Yeats through Connemara in 1905.
